*behind the scenes CRYSTAL JIN lookbook shoot*

I recently worked with Crystal Jin, an amazing swimwear designer and her awesome team shooting her 2011 lookbook for her new collection. I shot her lookbook last year which you can see on her website here:

http://www.crystaljin.com/

Her collection this year had more of a native american, earthy tones more natural feel to it so we decided to shoot this on location in a place that had a desert type of feel to it! We ended up finding the perfect location right here in the tri-state area!! The shoot was 2 days, and the first day it was blaring sun which made things a bit hard and everyone ended the day sunburnt. The second day was overcast which made things a lot easier. In the end, the shoot went smashingly well and we all had a blast working and hanging out with each other!! The final images will be done soon, more to come!!

Sleep No More in NYC

Last night my sister and I went to the late night 11pm performance of the much hyped, interactive performance of "Sleep No More," a production of the Emursive and Punchdrunk theater companies located at the abandoned McKittrick hotel in Chelsea on 530 West 27th St.

Honestly words cannot describe the experience nor would I want to give away what one would see during this amazing, interactive show filled with mind blowing set designs and hauntingly beautiful performances. Imagine a "haunted house (remember the haunted mansion from disneyworld?)" with a dash of "choose your own adventure," mixed in with some "eyes wide shut," and then throw in a heavy hand of moody, interactive in your face performance art. Mix it all that together and you get a fresh, never before seen take on a 3 hour Macbeth-ian traged that will guarantee to blow your mind, go see it if you can still get tickets!! Here is the link to the website for more info:

http://sleepnomorenyc.com/

Unfortunately they do not allow any type of photography while your inside so I couldn't take any pictures, but I did find a few online, along with a zillion other reviews. *spoiler alerts* Click on the links below to read more but I suggest if you plan on going to go into seeing the show not knowing what to expect, I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised!!

Also if your looking to grab a bite in the area before the show or if you happen to just be in Chelsea, I highly recommend this darling French Bistro with AMAZING food:

Seattle

On my last leg of my west coast trip I got to go to seattle, a place I went when I was young with my family but I had very little recollections of things so it was like my first time there! I was staying in the downtown area which was walking distance to a lot of really cool things like:

Pike Place Market (http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/) eat at these places below:
- fun place to take the kids

Seattle Library (http://www.spl.org/)
- an amazing architectural gem!

The Seattle Art Museum (http://www.seattleartmuseum.org/)
- didn't get to go to this but it looked really cool!

Seattle Underground Tour (http://www.undergroundtour.com/)
- a fun tour of Seattle's seedy past!

A big thanks to my buddy Justin for hosting me and showing me around! ;-)
